Givonni Madril: Forging a Path for Women in Tech

Givonni Madril is part of a Trailblazer Community group called Salesforce Women in Tech – Phoenix. The group gets together quarterly for networking, social events, and career building workshops. The group meets quarterly and provides opportunities to connect with other women in the industry. Prior to joining ApostleTech as a Client Manager, Givonni worked as a Salesforce System Analyst at BeyondTrust a Cyber Security Company. Career highlights included roles as a Salesforce Business Analyst at Wells Fargo, a Change Management Specialist for Charles Schwab and Salesforce Administrator in the Housing Industry.

In her role as Client Manager for ApostleTech, Givonni is dedicated to providing exceptional support and services to the multiple clients she now works with. This includes managing project solutions that are built on Salesforce, helping clients through the implementation process from start to finish, providing product recommendations, and analyzing organizations and operational processes to enhance the existing system to improve productivity.

Personally, Givonni wants to continue to learn and obtain additional Salesforce certifications, including an Advanced Administration certification, CPQ and becoming a Marketing Cloud expert.

What attracted you to pursue a career in tech?

I never expected to build a career in technology. My background was in business development and customer relations. I stated working for a company in housing and then worked for a small growing solar company. As far back as 2005, I started using Salesforce and when I was with the solar company, I started to teach myself how to utilize the tools it offered. Overtime, I became the Salesforce administrator for the company and got my Salesforce certification.

I love that it provides the opportunity for you to be innovative and creative. You are always learning new things and you have a hand in the process. Working in this field allows you to get and give feedback and to be a part of something that impacts change. Salesforce is a great platform that offers access to excellent tools and resources that are easy to use once you understand them.

What advice would you give today to young women exploring their career options?

There is so much out there you don’t know about. It is important to try new things and put yourself out there. Be open to new opportunities and don’t be afraid to go for it! It is okay to fail sometimes – that’s how you learn.

What do you enjoy most about working for ApostleTech?

I really enjoy working with the ApostleTech team. They are incredibly supportive and connected, as well as flexible. They provide support and tools for growth and the space to forge your path. We have a Monday meeting every week where we discuss different topics, and we are given the opportunity to learn with and from each other. We recently all took a personality test to learn more about our own learning and management styles, which allows us to better understand ourselves and each other, and examine areas where we may need to evolve or improve.

What are some of the biggest challenges your customers experience and how do you help them navigate those challenges?

One of the big challenges for companies is understanding the system and all that is available in its functionality. Many users will ask for customizing before using what is already there and available. Another common challenge is knowing how to access the metrics and reporting options and use the dashboards. My job is to help educate clients to understand how to use the system and have it work for their specific needs and organizations. Salesforce is easy to use when you understand it and provides fairly simple, fast solutions that allow organizations to save time and money.

Can you tell us about a project you are currently working on or one you recently completed?

I’ve been working with a couple of clients on the implementation of Einstein Activity Capture. It allows users to connect their Salesforce CRM to Outlook for direct communications to customers. I am helping to facilitate the set-up and implementation, as well as train and support user adoption.

We understand you are a big Disney fan, tell us what you love about the Disney experience?

First, their customer service is phenomenal. I’ve been going to Disneyland since I was little and now, I take my kids. They are teenagers and love it as well. When they were younger, I got an annual pass, and we would go a couple times a month. When you’re able to visit often there is no need to rush around; we would go and see what we wanted that day. It’s truly a magical experience every time you go.

ApostleTech has extensive implementation experience working with companies in the home building, construction, financial services, manufacturing, and nonprofit sectors to integrate the right CRM solution. If you have Salesforce and would like one of our ApostleTech experts to assess your current system let’s talk.
